God is good!

Being married is great! It's not easy, but it's great! The only thing that I've struggled with (besides the usual) in the almost 4 months that I've been married is not having a job, moving to a new state, and having to find friends. Being unemployed is difficult. Trying to find friends while unemployed is even more difficult! I enjoy working more than I enjoy staying at home all day by myself. I have been praying for a job and for friends to come into my life for a few months now. I believe that God is answering my prayers.

Matthew and I visited a church a couple of weeks ago and they offered me a job! It's only one, maybe two days a week, but it's still a job! Wow! God is good! So, having that job I am meeting girls my age (and some not my age) that I could possibly start hanging out with. God is good! Tomorrow I am attending a Bible study in our neighborhood where I will not only be studying God's word in Hebrews, but also meeting wonderful ladies that will be great support. God is good!

Moving to a new place with no job and no friends is a difficult thing. Waiting on God to take care of you is the best thing!

God is good!!

Great Weekend!

After closing on our house Friday afternoon, we decided to take a load to the new house. We found out that the refrigerator was going to show up between 7am and 11am! What?! That's a 30 minute drive! We'd have to leave at 6:30 and who knows if they'd be there at 7am! So, we decided to come back home, pack a bag, load the car with more stuff (plus a small twin mattress to sleep on) and we spent the first night in our new home. It wasn't the most comfortable nights sleep, but it was fun!

After waking up Saturday morning to greet the Home Depot delivery guys, we headed out to get lunch and run to Lowes for a few yard tools. After getting the much needed yard tools, we ventured out to the backyard to tackle the massive weeds! I can't explain to you how many weeds are in our front yard (which the HOA has mowed!), but our backyard is filled with weeds 3 feet high! We spent a lot of our Saturday afternoon pulling weeds, but we still have a lot more to pull! We should probably just kill them first.

Sunday afternoon we went to Browns Bridge Community Church for a "Family Birthday Celebration" where we saw a pretty cool 7 year old get baptized. It was a really cool celebration to be a part of.

So, needless to say it was a pretty great weekend! After coming home Sunday night I found out that I have a job interview on Wednesday for a Nanny position! Yay! Praying that it works out for God's glory!

Wow! It's been almost a year since the last time I posted anything! Last time I blogged I was moving. Well, since then I have gotten engaged, quit my wonderful job as a nanny, got married, moved to Alpharetta, GA, went to Europe for two weeks and bought a house. I guess you can say I've been a tad bit busy over the past year. It's amazing how time flies!

As of right now we're in the moving process. We are closing tomorrow and we've had to do a lot of things to prepare for that. It has not been a fun process to go through. Now come to find out, we have to bring $800 more to the table at closing. Unbelievable! Why can't they tell you that more like a week or two before and not the day before closing?? Either way, we're getting a beautiful house tomorrow! We've been doing a lot of packing and shopping for this and that. So excited to get into our new house and our new neighborhood. We have wonderful neighbors. Here is a picture of the house we will own tomorrow...
Oh yeah! And we're adding a dog into the mix! Woohoo!!

Needless to say, I've been learning a lot just over the past 6 months about wedding planning, moving to a new state (NIGHTMARE!), getting married (and all the legal stuff that goes with it), marriage and buying a house. Other than those things, I've also learned how hard it can be to find a new job!

Go here to view our wedding photos. It's not a beautiful site, but I made it for those who wanted to buy some.
